Top 5 Tips to stay safe online

1. Never use lazy passwords
Never try to use simple password that anyone could guess or workout easily like a middle name, pet's name, team name or so on. Always try to include capital letters, numbers and puncuation for extra security. Lets say if you want to use 'vanish' as your password, you can try 'Van15h!' instead.

Also never try to use same password for different accounts. When people can get into one of your account then they can access everything.

2. Keep your software up to date
Always and always keep your software up to date to keep you safe from known security holes. Hackers often have to spend a lot of time to reveal about any system or software. In that case, if we are able to update any software, we get new feature and functionalities so hackers will have to spend time again for those new updates which will help to extend the time before the hackers can hack the software.

Also updating the software is good not only in security point of view but also in providing good feature and speed enhancement.

3. Be careful while posting online
Whatever you write and post on social network is public, so don't give out any personal details such as your home address, bank detail, phone numbers etc. That would be equivalent of shouting your details infront of everyone that leaves you vulnerable to everyone including bad persons.

4. Never open email or attachment from strangers
Viruses are often spreaded via attachment on email so if you don't know the sender of the email, don't open the attachment and email especially .exe attachments. This may apply to website's link as well. Don't open the website unless you know the fact that it is popular website and safe to use. Don't use suspicious websites.

Also while browsing website, keep in mind that the url which starts from 'https' and not just 'http' are more secure. The 's' stands for secure.

5. Get anti virus software or firewall
It is better to use anti virus software before your system is being hacked or infected from any viruses or malware. You can use firewall or third party software like AVG or Norton.

A firewall will stop unauthorised people hacking in your computer while anti virus software will guard your computer from viruses which could destroy your computer.

Whatever you use, be sure these software are fully up to date and you are using paid version so that you will get security from everywhere.

I am personally using AVG Internet Security which I find really secure for my computer with great speed, ease of use and low cost. If you want to use the same and get secure for at least 2 years, you can get it easily with this link: AVG Internet Security 2017 - 2 Year Unlimited Devices
